On 5 December 2014, Minister David Lidington, wrote to Simon Wright MP – on behalf of UK lecturer, David McAllister who teaches at the University of Bologna – informing him that the UK had “…secured an agreement from Italian Education Minister Carrozza that she will work to find the necessary funding and set out a roadmap to start settling the outstanding debt.”

We are grateful also to Minister Maria Chiara Carrozza for commitment to settling the outstanding debt.
Minister Lidington added, “I and other members of the government, including the Foreign Secretary, have made it clear to our Italian colleagues that we expect to see some concrete progress by spring 2014”.
Our thanks are also due to UK Minister for Europe David Lidington and the UK government for assiduous efforts to secure Minister Carrozza’s commitment.
